This is a very welcome edition ... a readable, succinct account of the significance and origin of the Gospels David Norton, Expository Times A superb edition of perhaps the four most influential narratives ever written. Independent on Sunday

Excellent

I found the introduction and the notes to each of the gospels to be really interesting. I got a good sense of the differences between the gospels and the writers (or communities) behind each one. The notes really show how connected the gospels are to some of the books of the old testament.
