Excellent, transparent and unique!

This book is one of the clearest introductory thermal and statistical books in the market. The pedagogy of the book is really superb and unique among all books of similar level. Moreover, the presentation is concise and crispy. No loose wordings nor misleads. Quite contrary, the book clears out numerous misconceptions in the subject. Several topics are very illuminating: multiple traffice controls systems, entropy-driven forces (nowadays little discussed in other textbooks), hemoglobin, mixing-demixing, enthalpy, etc. Also, the book includes very lucid discussion on 1st-order phase transition, renormalization group theory, and monte carlo method. I find the book is well suited to any entering physics students as well as advanced students who wants to brush off the fundamentals in short time. I believe the book can serve as an excellent introductory thermal and statistical physics textbook at college. Overall, excellent, transparent and unique!
